Tomorrow’s tears.

Weeping today because it’s too hot and to bury our young and our elders and our sick as we melt and wither has my blood boiling.

Weeping today because children sleep at night and don’t wake up because our capacity for cruelty is almost as endless as the rain of bombs that burn olive and family trees to cinders.

Weeping today because people have been swept away in floods and landslides where we could see them. There is no comfort in this return to our Mother’s embrace when it is the carelessness of the few that entomb the many.

Weeping today because my grandmother is dying in a place far away from me. The umbilical cord between she and my father is tangled up in additional fees from airlines that don’t give a flying fuck about we, the global people.

Weeping today, and tomorrow, and tomorrow’s tomorrow too.
